I am in the process of replacing our old HP ML350 G5 server running SBS 2003 with a new server which will run Server 2012 R2 Std. This new server will have the Hyper-V role installed as well as 2 VMs.
Although the HP ML350 G5 server is old, it is still functioning. I would like to use it for some non production critical purpose until it dies. I was thinking I could use it as a backup server running the free Server 2012 Hyper-V. Microsoft Assessment And Planning Toolkit Setup Failed Printer more.
I could then move my 2 VMs over from my new production server should I encounter any type of hardware issue keeping things running while the production one is repaired. Is this possible? Veem is 64 bit. So you would need to be running a 64 bit OS to install it on. You need to watch the installs you have on the HP servers. The RAID should be set up in your RAID bios screen.
