Hp Protecttools Security Manager Windows 8 64 Bit

Download HP EliteBook 8460p ProtectTools Security Manager driver v.6.0.8.1017 for Windows 7, Windows 7 64-bit, Windows Vista, Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows XP.

I have an HP Elite 8300 desktop computer with Windows 8.0 installed on it. I have tried upgrading to 8.1, but the upgrade program says I need to uninstall the HP ProtectTools Security Manager.

This piece of software requires uninstallation of the HP Access Device Manager. After uninstalling it I tried uninstalling the Security Manager and it tells me I have to remove the Access Device Manager (which is already removed). I was on the phone with HP for a couple hours trying to solve the problem. I have tried re-installing the software and un-installing it several times but got no where. Is there an answer to this besides rebuilding the system and starting from scratch?

All I need to do is get the Security Manager to recognize the Access Device Manager is gone or remove the Security Manager by force. I look forward to almost any response that doesn't include 'recover your computer from scratch'. Hi, This issue might occur if the HP ProtectTools Security Manager is not removed completely. The fingerprint reader software (usually referred to as the access manager software) uses the fingerprint device driver to capture a fingerprint image and then control access to the logon accounts that you set up. Logon accounts contain user's names and passwords for secure applications and web sites that you register with the access manager.

Once a logon account is registered and you have enrolled a fingerprint in the access manager, you can use your fingerprint to log into those applications and web sites.
